In a cosmos of confection a lunatic lumberjack goes to town on a pick and mix planet. Tasty!
Our animated ident for E4’s new identy.
We were approached by E4 to join a limited number of other UK studios in creating an ident to show off the channel four rebrand. The whole studio came together to pitch ideas and together we created our 30 seconds of madness.

Beyond the Borders is a permanent installation at Hexham Old Gaol – the oldest purpose-built prison in England, dating back to the time of the Border Reivers.
We animated the stories of three fictional prisoners of the Gaol. Viewed through augmented reality the characters appeared to tell their stories from within the prison itself. The stories were written in participatory workshops in which inmates from three different prisons in North East England worked with writer Sheree Mack and historian John Sadler to write the historically accurate stories of three fictional past prisoners of Hexham Old Gaol.
The project was led by Dilly Arts, in collaboration with ourselves and Attaya Projects (Anya Kovalieva and Lalya Gaye), with writer Sheree Mack, historians John Sadler and Maureen Meilke, and curator Suzy O’Hara.
The project was the winner of the 2017 Royal Television Societies ‘Innovation’ award for North East and the Borders.
With the support of HMP Frankland, HMP Durham, HMP Low Newton and Hexam Old Gaol.
This project is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

We created a fun new series of animations for BBC Bitesize all about famous people from History!
Neil Armstrong, Emmeline Pankhurst, Guy Fawkes and Mary Anning are brought to life as they reflect on their past, telling their stories directly to the viewer.
Bitesize work is always enjoyable, but it can also educational for those working on it. During production we learnt about the cool sparking device Guy would have been using as matches hadn’t been invented yet, and also that our animator Mark can do a pretty great President Kennedy impression.

We were approached by our friends and frequent collaborators, video games and VR specialists Coatsink, to create a trailer for their new game ‘Augmented Empire’
Augmented Empire is a turn-based tactical RPG and the first of its kind designed purely for VR.
Augmented Empire takes place on the island of New Savannah, an isolated neo-noir city divided into three tiers by the Citizen Grade
System. From the armchair of your secluded hideout, control a team of six misfits in a world rendered as ‘augmented reality’, while
interacting with the office around you to investigate new developments, make calls, and refine the skills of your team.
We worked with two of the games artists, Nick Adrian who provided us with backgrounds for many of the shots adapted from the games concept art and Lucy Kyriakidou, who’s incredible character design provided the basis for our depiction of Ashley
We put together frame by frame hand drawn animation with multi plane backgrounds to allow for some dynamic camera moves before drenching the whole thing in rain and neon lights.

We created a series of five animations for BBC Learning all about plants, for key stage 2 science.
The animations are full of colourful flowers, plants and critters and cover a range of topics. From the importance of bees, to the multitude of ways that seeds are dispersed.
By mixing rigged characters, frame by frame animation and motion graphics these animations provided us with a brilliant project to demonstrate all the techniques we love, combining them into short films we are very proud of.
This is just one of many projects we have created for education, with others covering history, languages and health. Get in touch if you think we can help bring you educational project to life using animation with character.

With over 100 commercials and explainer videos under our belt, we decided it was about time that we made an explainer video to explain that we make explainer videos!
