Winner of the 2018 Jena Fulldome Festival, Star Maker is a 30 minute full dome immersive adaptation of the influential science fiction novel Star Maker, by Olaf Stapledon.

Written in 1937, it directly influenced the development of modern ‘hard’ science fiction and general fiction besides.
The adaptation was developed, written and produced by Michael Gandham. We brought together artists from across the North East to join with our own team in combining 2D digital animation, 3D animation, kinetic art and live and recorded music to present a creative response to the ideas, philosophies and imagery of the novel.

Special thanks to Chris Hudson for his invaluable feedback and advice and the Centre for Life for use of their dome for testing and reviews.

Featuring an originally composed score performed by Barry Hyde (Futureheads, Hyde and Beast)
